# How to Play Memory Match
Memory Match (also called Concentration or Pairs) is a simple relaxing game for 1 or more players. It only needs a set of paired cards, and it works great as an offline mobile game too.
Game Goal
Find all matching pairs by flipping cards and remembering where each picture is.
- Solo: Try to clear the board in the fewest moves or fastest time.
- Multiplayer: Collect the most pairs to win.
Setup
1. Use a deck made of matching pairs (animals, fruits, shapes, emoji, or playing cards). Every card has exactly one twin.
2. Shuffle all cards and lay them out face-down on a flat surface in a neat grid.
3. Pick who starts first; the youngest player is a common choice. Turns go clockwise.
Step-by-Step Rules
1. On your turn, flip **two cards fully open** so everyone can see them.
2. ✅ If they match:
- You keep the pair.
- You get **another turn** and flip two new cards again.
3. ❌ If they do NOT match:
- Flip both cards back face-down in the same spot.
- Your turn ends, and play moves to the next player.
4. Keep playing until all pairs are found.
5. Count the pairs. The player with the most pairs wins.
> Important rule: Only the active player can flip cards. No hints or telling others where cards are hidden.
Solo Version (Mobile App Style)
Most phone memory games are single-player.
- Tap two cards each move.
- Matching pairs disappear from the board.
- Non-matching cards flip back after a short pause.
- Finish when all pairs are cleared. Apps track your total moves and time.
Common Variations
- **Easy mode**: Small grid (6–8 pairs) for beginners and kids.
- **Hard mode**: Larger grid with many pairs, tests your memory more.
- **Wild card**: Some sets add a wild card that can match any card.
Beginner Tips
1. Look carefully at every card you flip, even when it is not a match. Note its position.
2. Use a simple pattern: start from corners and move row by row.
3. Try to flip unknown cards first instead of guessing randomly.
4. Take your time; this is a calm brain game, no rush.
5. If you forget, it is okay — you will see the same card again later.
